The rain was drumming against the window. The sky, a dark grey colour, looked like as if it at any moment would break apart and reveal the fireworks that were lightning. The girl, one amongst others in the room, incessantly had her emerald eyes on the world beyond that glass, not really noticing anything else going on around her. The teacher, she noted, had been talking during the entire lesson only pausing whenever someone asked a question, but anything that was said and anything beyond that was lost on her ears.
Time did not seem to pass, and if it did, it did not do it fast enough.
Everything went by in a blur, when her senses were finally brought back by a light engulfing the sky and a sound, not unlike the roar of a lion, took over and all the remaining sounds were silenced.
It was close. Very close. So close that one could still feel the statics in the air even seconds after it had passed, making the girl's short brown hair rise. So like everyone else in the classroom.
